Scarification is the single most impactful treatment you can give a Cornish lawn — it removes the suffocating layer of moss, thatch and dead organic material that builds up over time, allowing air, water and nutrients to reach the roots where they're needed most.

High rainfall, mild winters and shaded gardens create the perfect conditions for moss and thatch to accumulate rapidly, often forming a dense mat several centimetres thick.
